A little touch of Liberty floral for a classic bishop dress.🤍🪡

Your kit will be made using the Children’s Corner Bishop pattern with short sleeves, pleated or unpleated. Your dress will be pleated for the number of rows by the Bishop pattern and you will need to adjust your smocking plate for the size you are making. Simply add or remove geometric rows, happy smocking!

A Loss in Our Children’s Corner Family ❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of our dear friend, Veronica Lovvorn. She was more than just a member of our team, she was one of the quiet pillars that supported the very foundation of what we do. She worked masterfully behind the scenes as a pattern designer. Her detailed eye and understanding of sewing mechanics infused the important work we do to create classic designs of the highest quality.

Before she joined our creative team, Veronica had a remarkable career as a civil engineer. A proud Auburn graduate, she contributed her talents to the design of wastewater treatment plants and airports. Luckily for us, she turned her attention to more creative pursuits and poured out her talents with our team for the past 7 years. Even while facing the incredible challenges of a long battle with cancer, she showed up with grace and resolve, inspiring us all.

Veronica leaves behind her loving husband and two children, including her daughter Ella, a bright light who is spending this summer working in our shop. We are so grateful to remain connected to Veronica through Ella, whose presence reminds us daily of her mother’s strength, creativity, and spirit.

One of Veronica’s final sewing projects was a labor of love: a quilt she helped plan and create for Ella with members of the CC community. She carefully selected Liberty fabrics and even designed a functional tic-tac-toe board on the back, creating something both beautiful and full of joy. Despite the physical toll of her illness, Veronica remained determined to complete this quilt.

We will miss our friend more than words can express. Veronica’s legacy lives on in every pattern she touched and in the hearts of all of us who were lucky enough to know her.
