Gathered Jacqueline

A dress with a round yoke is the perfect place for a monogram as it frames her sweet smiling face. Children's Corner Jacqueline has this lovely round yoke, and this tutorial makes its even softer with fullness that is gathered on the round yoke.

Supplies

Children's Corner Jacqueline (3-6 or 7-12)

Updated Dress Fabric Requirements

Round Yoke - all sizes 1/4 yards Piping - 1 yard

Pattern Changes

1. Only the dress front and back are altered. Cut all other pieces as indicated in the Jacqueline pattern. Using the A-line side seam, trace the new dress front and add fullness to the front by moving the "place on fold line" over by the amount shown below. Trace the new back and add fullness to the back by moving the seam line near center back over by amounts shown below.

Use the updated cutting layout shown below.

2. Complete construction as indicated through step 9. In place of stay stitch in steps 10 & 11, sew two rows of gathering threads 1/8" and 3/8" from raw edge of fabric on front and back pieces. Gather up to fit yoke between dots. Continue construction following instructions at step 12.
