Adding a little touch of coordinating ric rac is a fun way to make a fun bib as a gift.

Supplies

Children’s Corner Bunny’s Knit Nightie pattern Ric Rac – 1 yard Glue Baste it – we used Roxanne’s

Construction

1. Cut a bib and bib lining. (For added absorbency, cut a layer of flannel) Place the ric rac on the outer edge, starting and stopping at the center back ends of the bib. Use tiny drops of fabric glue (such as Roxanne’s Glue Baste It) to hold the ric rac in place.

2. Stitch the ric rac in place, using scant 1/4" seam allowance and by just catching the outside points. Place the bib lining on top with right sides together. If you are using an inner layer of flannel, place it on top of the lining. 3. Stitch around the bib using 1/4" seam allowance and stitching line from the ric rac as your guide. Leave an opening on one side. Trim corners and clip curves. Turn right side out and press. Whip stitch the opening closed.

4. Finish with a snap (see our tutorial) or button and buttonhole. Instructions by Susan Whitman
