Katina Tunic

Updated: May 24, 2023

Soft and breezy, a shortened Katina is a great choice for warm days of play. You can make this a quick unsmocked version, or we give you instructions on a smocked version as well. The construction is the same as the Katina instructions, but see below for new fabric requirements and skirt lengths for the tunic length. We are sewing from the 2020 release of Katina. If you are using an older version, you will need to accommodate for the revised seam allowance of 1/2" at the yoke when using these skirt measurements. Add a 1/4" to the bottom the yoke and top of the skirt.

We’ve coordinated this top with the Banded Parker’s Shorts. You can find this tutorial here, on our blog.

Supplies

Children’s Corner Katina pattern (2020 release). Hem allowance is 2 1/4"

The gathered skirt widths changed between the original pattern and the 2020 release. If you are working with the original pattern, this chart shows you the revised measurements.
